-
No. Healthy wisdom teeth that are fully erupted, functional and easy to clean may not require removal. Treatment recommendations are based on your individual situation.
-
The procedure itself is performed under local anaesthetic, so you should not feel pain during treatment. Some discomfort and swelling are normal during the recovery period and are usually well managed with appropriate medication.
-
Simple wisdom tooth extractions may take as little as 20–30 minutes, while more complex surgical cases can take longer depending on the position of the tooth.
-
Most patients recover well within one week, although complete healing of the extraction site continues over several weeks.
-
If you have only local anaesthetic, you can usually drive yourself home. If IV sedation is used, you will need someone to accompany you and drive you home.
